LONDON, Jan. 10. The Cuban stowaway Jackson, who Avas detained at LLull, is causing comic commotion in official circles. British officials declare that Jackson at ffrst SAvore that he was born at Hull. The authorities extensively investigated his statement, but it could not be substantiated. Jackson then said he was born at Liverpool, but similar investigations produced a similar result. When the Cuban Avas informed of this he replied that he was born in .Brisbane. Officials state the possibilities are enormous, because Jackson may SAvear his birthplace is any of thousands of towns, each necessitating fruitless investigation. Official circles are of opinion that if Jackson Avas born in Britain then he must be freed, but if he were born anyAvliere else, then the commonAvealth from where he came must repatriate him. In the meantime this centre figure of a world-wide nine days’ Avonder continues to be kept at the British expense. His compatriots, Avho are all British, were freed as soon as they Avere landed.
