Details are lacking, but it is belieA r ed the latter gained the .advantage. The Shinwaris, the principal rebel tribe, sent its leaders to Kabul to draAV up peace terms, and are holding Jalalabad city as a hostage for their safe return. During operations against the rebels an Afghan plane crashed in flames. The Russian pilot and another Russian were killed.
