FIGHTING NEAR KABUL

The- tribal revolt in Eastern Afghanistan appears to have ended, hut serious fighting has been reported between Afghan troops and the rebels under Battohasakao ten miles north of Kabul. Details are lacking, but it is belieA r ed the latter gained the .advantage. The Shinwaris, the principal rebel tribe, sent its leaders to Kabul to draAV up peace terms, and are holding Jalalabad city as a hostage for their safe return. During operations against the rebels an Afghan plane crashed in flames. The Russian pilot and another Russian were killed.
