Bacteriologists and scientists from twenty States are meeting here to study the influenza epidemic. They heard a paper prepared by SurgeonGeneral Gumming, in which he declared that a second epidemic, with a higher death roll, may follow the present outbreak. Surgeon-General Gumming was stricken with influenza three days ago.
