TARANAKI ASSOCIATION
ANOTHER TOURNEY ARRANGED
A meeting, of the committee of the Taranaki Boxing ssociation was helid on Monday evening, when tike following were present: Messrs W. N. Stephenson. T. Campbell. J. Garcia, W. Roebuck, J. Horifor, W. Searle, V. Pruden, .C. E. Roebuck R. Harvey and the lion, secretary (E. ,J. Carr). The seoeta.ry reported that the recent tournament in New Plymouth had resulted in a loss of £lO 16s 5d for the association.
After some discussion, it was decided to hold a tournament at Waitara, when it wa.s hoped Donovan would he matched with Vcrcoe (Blenheim), who put up a creditable showing against Reekie. Messrs Campbell, Pruden, Stephenson, Carr aiiid C. E. Roebuck were aipponted a. sub-committee. to meet boxing enthusiasts from Waitara and arrange a suitable date. The match committee, was recommended to arrange the amateur preliminaries on a Waitara. v. New Plvinouith basis.
A dona;.ion of £3 3s was received from Mr C. H. Weston towards the expenses of the tournament. A vote of thanks was accorded to Dir Weston.
