EGMONT SHOW.
ADMINISTRATIVE WORK. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Eigmont A. and Ik Association, the early business of which was -reported- in the “Star’.’ late edition was continued on Saturday. A letter dated July IS, forwarded by Mr H. G. Dickie, M.T., advised that the matter qf the- association selling a portion of its land had been placed before the Minister ■of Agriculture, who had referred it to the departmental officers -for report. Mr Dickie was of the opinion that an A. and P. Association could sell ;a portion of its land to pay off mortgage providing that the land was purchased from a private individual and that the money raised for the purchase of land for the association’s purposes. It- appeared that all that was necessary in the present case was for the association to obtain the consent of the Governor-) n-Couucil. He would, communicate with the. association. further when the departmental report was received. A telegram forwarded on .Tulv 18 from the department notified that if the association desired to- sell land for the purpose of liquidating liabilities incurred otherwise than in the purchase of other lands special legislating authority was apparently necessary. New members of the- association were elected -as follow i Messrs H. Gih-so-n (Elt-haim), 0. L. Kole( Inaha), It. Tremain (Auroa), Fred Hamilton (Kakaramea), Walter Hamilton (iWhakamara), Ivan Ballantyne (Hawera). The resignation of Mr A.
