ARARATA APPEAL FUND.
CLOSING TO-MORROW. SMALL AMOUNTS STILL OUTSTANDING. With the receipt- of £7 10s, the proceeds of a concert and dance held at Alton last week, the amount- received by the “Star’' Office on behalf of the Ararata Appeal Fund now totals £245 13s. The fund will be closed to-mor-row, 31st inst. It is understood that a few small amounts collected on behalf of the fund are still outstanding, and it is hoped that they will bring the total to at least £250. All persons holding moneys on behalf of this fund are asked to forward them to the “Star” Office in time for acknowledgment in to-morrow’s issue. A telephone message to the accountant of the “Star,” who has acted ns treasurer of the fund, from collectors, advising the amounts in hand, will facilitate final settlement.
