GROUP HERD TESTS

A meeting of farmers was held fast night.in the Whareroa Hall to form a branch of the South Taranaki herd testing group. Mr. W. H. Reynolds was in the chair. He introduced Mr. Bardslev, who gave a. very interesting and instructive address. The attendance was rather disappointing, nevertheless, it is hoped to have a strong group presently. It is a great help, to, production and all should join. FACTORY RE-OPENING. The dairy factory has been closed for some time for "repairs, but it will open again about the first of the month The farmers will he very pleased as the j long journey to Glover Factory rakes up too much time at this busy season. GENERAL. The milking season has well commenced as can be seen by the numbers of little calves at almost every gate. The cows are looking well after the nice mild winter, and the promise of a good yield and high prices should make the farmers’ heart rejoice. The many friends of Mr. G. A. Murphy will be pleased to hear that he is improving alter his serious operation, although it will some time before he gets home.
