PLUNKET SOCIETY

PRESENTATION TO MR'S M. J. GOODSON. A very pleasant impromptu social function 'took place at the Savoy Tea Rooms last AVednesday afternoon, the occasion being to bid farewell to Mrs M. J. Goodson, Who is leaving Ila-wera shortly 'to take up her residence in AVellington. Mrs AV. M. AVinks, president of the Plunlcet Society, presided over an attendance of about twenty ladies, who spent, a ifios't enjoyable afternoon interspersed with musical items and a, competition. Mrs AVinks took the opportunity to present the guest, on behalf of the society, with a handsome bedroom clock, in appreciation of her services and her keen interest, in the society during her term as president. Mesdames Bright and Foyster tied for the prize in the competition, whilst Miss Joyce Goodwin and Mesdames Goodson* and Garter entertained the company with elocutionary items and songs. Mrs A. Corrigan officiated at t.he piano.
