FLOODS IN THE WAIKATO.
HEAVIEST SINCE 1914 AT TE AROHA. RAIN STILL FALLING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, July 24. Te Aroha reports the heaviest flood since 1914. The local shipping office, timber yard, and bide stores are under water, also some residences. Part of a bridge at Gordon Road was washed away. The rainfall was 5.G0 inches for 24 hours- to 9 a.m., making 9 inches in 48 hours, and it is still raining heavily. The Waihou river is rising rapidly and the road to Paeroa is impassable.
