HAWERA HOSPITAL FARM
INSPECTION BY MEMBERS OF •' BOARD.
At bln? conclusion of tho ordinary meeting yesterday, members of the Hawera Hospital Board' inspected the farm, sheds and) appurtenances. They were directed by the farm manager, Mr H. J. Webber* and spent a profitable half-hour inspecting that portion of the hospital operations and discussing with the manager the progress being made and the manner in which,’ the high state of efficiency might not only be retained but, wherever ,possible, increased. The ten acres on the north side of South Road, sloping away to the western boundary, was looking in great heart, the fourteen Jersey cows being in fine, condition.
The milking shed, built to accommodate eight cows, is the latest and most up-to-date in style, witln the bails ••bghtiy sloping to the front to allow all drainage to get away into the pit. and with the feed boxes at the cows’ heads, a. convenience whioh. the manager considers, conduces to efficiency. All was spick and span, as were also cb?, milk-holding and 'separator rocriKi, and the stage from which the dray ts with its load for the factory oi other parts of the farm. digs are a sideline, in which the manager takes a special interest, and these were carefully inspected. _ The runs and the styes were examined and it was seen that the conditions were such, as to get the utmost possible out of the stock animals kept at the la rm.

V.eased with the 1 visit and agreed that the farm was being worked ini a most efficient manner and was performing a very important service to the hospital.
