KING ALFONSO.

PLOT TO ASSASSINATE HIM

FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) —United Service). LONDON, July 23. Following the discovery of a widespread plot to assassinate King Alfonso when, with President Doumergue, he inaugurated the new Pyreneese tunnel connecting the Franoo-Spanish railways a Spaniard and three Frenchmen were arrested on the Spanish frontier, states the “Daily Mail’s” Toulouse correspondent. Two of the arrested suspects were in possession of secret instructions from a Spanish anarchist committee at Barcelona ordering them to prepare comrades and fit them out for an imminent expedition and to find arms at a point indicated across the frontier. The arrested men have been imprisoned at ho ancient fortified city of Oarassonne, which M. Doumergue visited on Sunday in connection with the celebrations oi its 2000th anniversary.

The plot is believed to be connected with outbreaks of vast forest fires inside the French frontier, which were intended to be used as a screen.
