(From Our Own Correspondent.) SALVATION ARMY ANNIVERSARY Great preparations had been made for the Salvation Army tea which was held lasjt night in the hall. The tables were exceptionally laden with many varieties of good things to eat, and the seating capacity at the tables was all taken up. Afterwards the hall was cleared and a concert was held, the programme consistingof musical items by the band, orchestral selections, company songs, solos, etc. Congratulatory speeches were made by the Mayor. Mr. I. J. Bridger, and Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, Rev. Mr. Avery,‘‘Rev. Mr. Ryburn, and representatives of the various Salvation Army, corps in Taranaki. Brigadier Wall, of Wellington, presided over the meeting. ROTOKARE DOMAIN BOARD.

The first statutory meeting of the Rotolcare Domain Board was held in the Municipal Buildings last night. Those present were Messrs C. H. White (chairman), F. R, Pepperell, N. Needham, I. J. Bridger, and Murray (secretary). An apology was received from Mr, R. Copies tone. The secretary reported that he had communicated with the under-secretfiry of the Department of Internal Affairs regarding the revenue derived from the opossum licenses issued for the reserve during the past year, with the result that the sum of £23 13s 2d had heen received from the department. It was decided to open an account in the post office savings bank. Mr. Bridger reported that lie had telegrapned to the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. 0. J. Hawken, concerning’ the application for £loo' for replanting an area with gums. The Minister had replied that the matter was being dealt with by Cabinet, and that he would telegraph the result as soon as possible. As a result of representations made to the Geographic Board in Wellington concerning the duplicating of the name of “Rotokare” by the New Plymouth board, the lake in New Plymouth will be restored to its-original name, “Barrett’s Lagoon.” Mr F. ft. Pepperell reported that, he had received 50.) rainbow yearling trout or the- Jake. These are at present in Mr. Tristrain’s dam, and are being fed daily, and will be transferred to the lake next winter. The chairman stated that lie would like to see a'•club formed to assist the board to improve the lake and help to popularise it as a scenic resort.
