BORING FOR OIL.
OPERATIONS AT WHANGAAIOATONA. The New Zealand Oil Sydniente, which is boring for oil at AVhangamomona on a good anticlinal formation, has met with the first strata of sand at 535 feet. The sand shows itself to he oil bearing. It was forecasted that this would be the case. Further sand strata are expected.
