TRAGEDY ON A FARM
HUSBAND’S DISCOVERY. ROUSED BY REPORT OF GUN. WIFE AND DAUGHTER DEAD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 18. A shocking trakedy occurred at Huirangi during; the night. A farmer named Percy Surrey was roused by a muffled report in his wife’s bedroom. Finding the door locked he entered through ai window and found liis wife lying on the floor dead, with a, singlebarrel gun beside her*, and bis daughter aged 19, at the point of death front a gunshot wound, lying in the bed., in which was a spent cartridge The appearances led to the assumption that Mrs. Surrey, who was in indifferent health, had shot her daughter and then herself.
