, The. Hon. A. D. AlcLeod arrived at Dunedin, last night (states a Press Association message). He will open the winter show to-day, and will spend; the week-end in Dunedin, returning north on Tuesday. The Hon. Downie Stewart will probably leave Dunedin on Wednesday for Wellington.

The death occurred on Thursday last of Mrs. C. AT. Lillee, whose husband is chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board. Mrs. Luke was a daughter of the late Air. Samuel Pinny, of Motueka. She married Air. Luke in 1880. When Air. Luke was Alayor of Wellington Airs. Luke took a great interest in civic work, and has always assisted in the activities of the Plunket and other similar societies.

Air Bon Bushin, of Otakeho, who Iras been in the Hawera Hospital for some two weeks, is progressing well and showing marked improvement in health since on operation was performed. A Greymouth message reports the death of Air. William Greens Lade, 80 years of age, a pioneer of the Grey district. He arrived ,in the ’sixties, and carried on a tannery business in the early days at- South Beach, later conducting a general store till his retirement 15 years ago. He was a native of Devon, England. Air. J. W. Greenslade, Alayor of Greymouth, is aJ son of deceased, another son being the Rev. W. Greenslade, a Alethodist minister at St. Albans, Christchurch. There are also three daughters.
