DOMINION’S POSITION.
FURTHER. TO WESTWARD THAN SUPPOSED. LONGITUDE RE-DETERMINED. (.BY TEIjKGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, May 16. The Dominion' observatory has published the results of observations made during October and November last as part of the world-wide scheme for the determination of Longitude. Radio signals were used and it- was believed that much great accuracy was obtained. One result is that New Zealand was found to be 269 feet further westward than it was supposed to be. This gives rise to the question whether further observations will increase the distance or not and so confirm the theory held by some geologists of a continental drift.
