THE CAAIP AT AVAA T ERLEY
AIOUNTEDS WELL OARED FOR,
Some 400 men of the AVellington AVet Coast Mounted Rifles- are now in camp at the Waverity race-course, under the command of Lieut. Colonel AV. R. Foley, AI.O. The men are from the Wanganui, Alokau, AA r ailgamomona and Opunake districts. There are also four mounted machine-gun sections under the command of 'Captain Smart. With Lieut. Colonel Foley are Majors Chisholm and Hayhurst, Captain Ferens, Harvey, Strachan and Lieutenant J. N. Henry, N.Z.S.C. Captain Gibbs, is in charge of the signal section and Captain Bailey is veterinary surgeon. The G.0.C., N.Z. Alilitary Forces, Alajor-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G. D. 5.0., will inspect the camp on Tuesday next, and Cbl.-Commandant I. H. A\ 7 hyte will also- inspect the camp during the training. The Queen Alexandra’s Own Regimental Band, consisting of 42 members, are in camp and will give an open air programme on Sunday afternoon, when the camp will be open to the public.—AVanganui “Chronicle.”
