The death is reported by cable from London of Mr. Falconer Larkworthy, aged 95, who was managing director of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency from 1865 to 1890. Dr. Stresemann, German Chancellor, is suffering from ptomaine poisoning, and is expected to be in bed for a fortnight. He has cancelled his election campaign, states a United Service tele-: gram. A later message states: The Central News reports that the latest bulletin issued in Berlin states Dr. Stresemann’s life is now in danger. Air. F. AY. Court, who has joined the merchandising and sales department of the Farmers’ Co-operative-Organisation Society, was the recipient of a presentation from the staff of the Wanganui Fresh Food Co., Ltd., prior to his departure to take up his new position in Hawera. A high’ tribute ’ Was paid- to his services to the -company by the managing director, Air. D. Dickie, who said that it was largely through Air,, Court’s efforts, that the system of home- separation had been developed in South Taranaki. Other members of the staff also joined in wishing Air. Court every success, and the latter suitably responded. At the annual meeting of the Opunake Power Board yesterday, many complimentary .remarks were made on the great value of the work done since its inception by Air. C. A. Trotter, who had decided not to seek re-nomina-tion to the office of chairman. Air. Chambers said that Air. Trotter had done an enormous amount of work in connection with the finance of the board and the raising of the loans. This was heartily endorsed by Air. J. S, Tosland and by all the members present. A brief acknowledgment was made by Alx. Trotter of the many kind references to his work. The great esteem in which .the late Mr R. T. Bullock was held l in the district was amply shown by the very large and representative gathering of all o’asses of the community at his funeral yesterday, out of respect to his memory'. There were also many friends from other parts of Taranaki. From many rriend® came beautiful wreaths. -The chief mourners were Air George Tayjpr, father-in-law, and Messrs- H. B. Taylor, T. Tail. AV. F. Lyndon (Auroa), H. Ward, Peacock (Toka.ora) and AVoodward (Palmerston North), brothers-in-law. The service was conducted by the Rev. R. E. Evans, and consisted of the twenty-third Psalm, followed by a passage of Scripture and a prayer. The bearers were (fellow-members of the Foresters’ Lodge (to which Air Bn,lock had been attached for 26 years)—Alessrs A. J. Gyde, H. G. Stubbing, A. F. Anderson. T. Hobbs, L. E. Marter, and AV. AV. Afundy. There were also many other members present. Bro. Stebbing read the beautiful funeral service of the order at the graveside, just before the- benediction pronounced' by Rev. R. E. Evans.
