TURUTURU SCHOOL.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Turuturn School Committee was held on Monday. Present: Messrs. A. IC. Fyson (chairman), D. Stevenson (secretary), F. Gawit-h, J. Rodie, junr., A. J. Corrigan, M. Stening, R. Wilson. Mr. F. W. Mason (headmaster) was present. The headmaster reported that the school roll number was 140, and he had applied to the Taranaki Education Board for an additional teacher. It was expected that the request would be granted as soon as arrangements could be made by the hoard. Tiie question of school colours was brought up, ancl it was decided to submit the matter to the householders’ meeting for discussion. It was decided to place the moneys collected for grounds improvements during the recent canvass on deposit until required. The chairman undertook to approach the South Taranaki Automobile- Association for warning signs for erection near the school. A comprehensive plan of the school grounds as they would be when completed was received from Mr. Itidling, chief agricultural instructor of the Education Board. Portion of the improvements outlined have already been put in hand, ancl the remainder will l>e gone on with as funds permit. As that was the last meeting of the committee for the year the chairman thanked members for their support and co-operation.
