KING OF AFGHANISTAN.
HIS VISIT TO RUSSIA. SOVIET PREPARATIONS AND EXPLANATIONS. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTRIC TELEG RA PH—COPYRIGHT.) (“TIMES” GABLES.) Received 10.45 a.m. to-day. LONDON, April 25. The Riga correspondent of “The Times” says: Aloscow is energetically preparing to receive their Afghan Alajesties ceremoniously, and is conducting a campaign among the masses to explain why the Bolshevists, who have declared war to the death on all monarchs, must splendidly welcome King Amanullali. The whole Press devotes long articles emphasising King Amanullah’s fifty day war against England in 1919, hoping that Aloscow will dispel the illusions of British friendship acquired in the recent visit.
