DAIRY FACTORY DESTROYED
AT CAPE! EIGMONT. A TOTAL. LOSS. A serious blow to the dairy farmers of the western district of Taranaki was suffered thi§ morning when the Cape Egmont Dairy Factory, situated near the cape, was destroyed by fire and was a total loss. The dry weather had made the building, an old wooden structure, more susceptible to fire and as no water (supply was available, practically nothing could be done' to save it from complete destruction. The outbreak commenced apparently in* the butter room, but its origin remained a mystery. The store, which had concrete walls, was also destroyed, the walls alone standing. Insurances were held in New Plymouth and the details were not available. Temporary arrangements have been made with the Rahotu company to the south and Warea on the north to deal with the dailv supplies of milk. This is thei second factory destroyed in that locality this year.
