SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, March 16. At the Supreme Court, William Matthews, aged 19, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft a® a servant of £I4OO from’ the money order department of the G.P.0.. WellingtonWilliam Matthews, of Timaru, father of the accused, _ said that pervious to coming to Wellington the prisoner was of very mod character, industrious and always home at night. Mr Keesing, for the’ accused: You know he was keeping company with a young lady? Sir Charles Skerrett: That is quite absurd.
