The New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting opened on the club’s course to-day. Owing to the poor transport arrangements the attendance was not so large as it might otherwise have been. The weather was fine and the track was in good order. The totalise tor handled £15,570 10s. Last year, when the meeting was held at Addington, the machine handled £25,217, and the previous year £20,485 10s. Results are: —

Entering the straight Great Earl was in command, but could not withstand a fast finishing run by Native Queen on the outside of the field, Native Queen winning by two lengths.
