RUDE AWAKENING.

SLEEPWALK ER ’ S ESCAPE, JUMPER FROM TRAIN. ADELAIDE, Dec. IC. V. FJ Hancock', aged 20, of Perth, had a lucky escape from death shortly befoie midnight last night. He was a passenger on the first division of the Mellvourne express, and, walking in his sleep, jumped through a window when, the train was travelling at 30 miles an hour. He escaped without a scratch. Hancock explained this morning that he was dreaming lie was on the wrong train. Clad in his pyjamas he rushed to an open window and leaped out. Luckily, he landed on his feet. The incident happened shortly after the train left Horsham. Awakened by the sudden fall. Hancock saw the train disappearing in the distance. He noticed the lights of the station a short distance off, and made back to apprise the stationmaste.T, who advised the officials at Dimboola. Hancock’s luggage was taken off and he waited for the second division, arriving at Adelaide this morning. He continued his journey to Perth by the east-west mail.

Hancock is a student at Runtroon Military College, and is hound for Perth on his vacation.
