THIRD AT WELLINGTON. GOOD COMPETITION WELLINGTON. Jan. 23. Th<‘ New Zealand Loan and Mereazi--1 iL? Agency Co. report that the third Wellington wool sale of tlio present selling season commenced last evening when, the linn submitted a catalogue of aproximately 2400 bales and disposed of Of) per cent at auction. The report continues:— “There was a full attendance of buyers and competition was excellent. America operating very keenly for all well-grown, bright, sound wools, aud this class of staple cun be quoted as being dearer than at previous sales. The wools were of fair staple and good condition, but displaying tenderness of fibre. They met witii good competition from Bradford and the Continent, on about last sale's parity. Pieces and lambs showed an increase of Id per lb. The selection of wool opened up in excellent condition. A feature of the sale was the keen competition experienced for all classed and binned wools, which distinctly proves that it is to the growers’ advantage to have the wool graded so that it meets with competition from all sections of the trade.
