WAR-TIME PROFITS, SIR JOHN HIGGINS' PLAN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received July 9, 11.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 9. Tn the House of Representatives. Mr. Bruce tabled a statement showing the amount of the Australian share under the wool agreement between the Imperial and Commonwealth Governments to the profits derived front the sale of wool for other than military purposes. Mr. Bruce said that after payment to the wool-growers of a flat rate of lo.pl per pound on greasy wool and all charges, the profits from the sale of wool, interest* exchange, and other sources was £34,954,379, of which £29.060,601 had been distributed between 1921 and 1924. The. latest financial statement prepared by the B.A.W.R.A. showed the total funds as £7,735,718, the surplus amounting to £5,301,478. There was also £1,841,940 held in trust. The distribution of both the latter amounts was a matter subject to litigation. AN ADVERSE VOTE. Received July 9. 10.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 9. A meeting of wool-growers in St awe 11 district considered Sir John Higgins' wool stabilisation scheme. A vote resulted as follows: For the plan, twelve growers representing twelve thousand sheep ; against the plan, fourteen growers. representing forty-one thousand sheep. Several growers did not vote.
