COMPLETION URGED (by TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, July 9. A big deputation from the West Coast- local oodies and several south Island M.’isP.j waited, o-i the Prime Minister land the Minister for Public Works to-day to ask that the Duller Gorge railway and the GlenhopeMurehison railway -should he completed at an early date. Mr. Holland introduced the deputation, and said it was supported by the principal bodies in Nelson, Westland, Marlborough and Canterbury. He presented a petition containing 2(XX) signatures asking that the Bullet’ Gorge line he. completed. This line would .pay its way iromi the start owing! to the resources of the gorge. Messrs. Beilby, Menzies, Atmore, Hudson and Lsitt also spoke. Lii. reply, Mr. Coates- »>aicl that the information supplied by the deputation would, be considered in working out the construction programme for the ensuing year, and the Public Works Statement would say ivhat was going to be done.
