LABOURER’S BANKRUPTCY.

SICKNESS THE CAUSE. The meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Percy Soiverby,'labourer, of Hawera, which was to .have been held, this afternoon, lapsed for want of a quorum. . H. “'Walker at the bacon factory, Nolan town, at a. wage of £4 10s. per week. He attributed his bankruptcy entire’v to sickness in his family. His wile had died about three months ago after a long illness, entailing maehi expense, and Within the last 12 months one of his children had also died. He still had himself and four children between the ages of 2 and 10 years to maintain, and lie a 7 so had to. employ a housekeeper to look after them, while lie was at work. In these circumstances he found it almost impossible' to pay off his debts, and he was regretfully compelled to file. He could only pay a small dividend to his creditors, whom lie recognised had met him in the past most considerately.
