Chinese Firm Robbed During Festivities
P.A. AUCKLAND, October 11. Whilst the Chinese members of the firm of H. W. Chan and Company, fruiterers, Dominion Road, were enjoying the Chinese national day festivities last night, thieves entered their shop and stole £l5O in silver. The robbery was discovered at 11 p.m. A rear shop door and a bedroom door had been forced with a jemmy. The cash had been left in three canvas bags in the bedroom.
