78 LABOUR CANDIDATES CHOSEN
P.A. WELLINGTON. October 11. Three further Labour candidates for the general elections were announced to-day. They bring the number of selected Labour candidates to dat e to 78. The only outstanding seats are Wallace and the Western Maori. The new candidates are: —
Waikato: —Mr J. R. Burfitt, of Auckland, a builder. He contested the Mt. Albert Mayoralty at the last municipal elections. Mr Burfitt is 35 years of age. Franklin:—Mr John Parsons, of Otahuhu. Mr Parsons, who resides in Onehunga, is 41 years of age. Hauraki: —Mr Percival Peacock. Aged 47 years, Mr Peacock is a Pokeno farmer. He formerly was a businessman at Mangatawhiri. He is also a jXjrtner in a bookselling firm in Tauranga.
