Mrs Escot and children arrived on Tuesday by plane from Hastings to visit her parents, Mr and Mrs G Gilbert.

Misses Aureen Ritchie and Verdun Ritchie were passengers by Tuesday’s express for Christchurch. Mesdames Birss and Inglis and Misses Marie and Ann Birss visited Tlmaru on Tuesday last to attend Mr Wm. Hahn’s wedding, in that city. Mrs J. Smith, of Christchurch paid a visit to her mother, Mrs D. Neville last week.

Mrs McCrae has returned to Wellington, where she will,, in future, reside.

Miss Pat Hemera left last week to take up a position at Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay.

A most successful annual meeting of the Kumara Cricket Chib, held in the F'ire Brigade rooms on Wednesday, September 28, augers well for a successful season. The election of officers resulted. —President, Mr W. J. Benyon (re-elected); secretary, Mr J. F. Fitzpatrick (re-elected); selectors, Messrs T. Hemera, W. Bell, and L. Lee; captain, Mr L. Lee; vice captain, Mr W. Bell.
