Desperate Situation: Sydney Gas And Electricity Supply
(Rec. 10.5). SYDNEY, May 2. The New South Wales State Cabinet has to-day proclaimed a state of emergency under the Gas and Electricity Act, and has appointed G. Conde as Emergency Electricity Commissioner, “with full power to act to meet the desperate situation which now faces us”.
