PERTH POLICE RAID ON SUSPECTED COMMUNISTS

(Rec. 9.30) PERTH, May 2 According to a report by Mr L. L. Sharkey, the Australian General Secretary of the Communist Party, the West Australian police in Perth, today, raided the homes of suspected Communists. ■Mr Sharkey added that plain clothes police made the raid. They told the occupants of the places raided that thev were acting under a Section of the Criminal Code, on the grounds that the Communist Party was a seditious organisation.
