FATAL COLLISION NEAR SPRINGSTON

CHRISTCHURCH, February 27.

A man suffered fatal injuries and two children were injured, one of them seriously, when two motor-cars collided at the corner of the Weedons-Lincoln Road and Waterhole Road, near Springston. The victims were:—

Died of Injuries

William McLaren, aged 71, married, a farmer, of Springston, Injured

Helen Borrie, aged 21 months, serious head inuries. Her parents live at 39, Marlow Road, Aranui. Adrian Ronald Borrie, aged 3, a brother of Helen Borrie, head injuries.

Helen Borrie was reported to be on the seriously ill list, although hei’ condition was more satisfactory than it had been. Adrian Borrie’s condition was reported to be improving. Mr and Mrs Borrie, parents of the two children, and their third child, were treated as out-patients. The Borrie family was in one car. Mr McLaren was driving the other, in which his wife was also travelling.
