SAVINGS BANKS’ CONFERENCE AT FOX GLACIER
Private savings banks throughout New Zealand are holding their annual conference at Fox Glacier, Weheka, to-morrow, and delegates from tiie lour main centres, and from Invercargill, New Plymouth and Hokitika are expected to attend. Most of the 28 delegates arrived in Greymouth last evening and proceeded to Hokitika. To-day, the party will proceed to South Westland, visiting the Kaniere dredge en route and after a short visit to vVaiho will continue on to Weheka, where the cumerence is to be held. The conference is expected to last all day Saturday. On Sunday, the party is leaving on a visit further soutn to Bruce Bay, returning to Hokitika on Monday. The President of the Hokitika Savings Banks (Mr S. J. Preston), together with Messrs D. P. Stuart and M. H. Houston, senior., trustees, will be representing the Hokitika bank at the conference. The Auckland and North Island delegates return from Christchurch by air'on Tuesday. A similar conference was hold at Hokitika four years ago.
