AMERICAN SPY SYSTEM MAY BE LEGALISED

(Rec. 8.0). WASHINGTON, Feb. 23. The House of Representatives Armed Services Committee to-day approved a Bill to legalise the United States iTpy system and to protect aliens who work for it. The Bill would give full statutory hacking, for the first time, to the top secret Central Intelligence Agency, which was formed two years ago. It would grant residence in the United States, each year, to 100 aliens, who could give valuable information to United States agents, waiving all admissibility laws. It was reported that the Central Intelligence Agency officials told Congressmen thaj. the aim of the Bill was to attract renegade Communists, who may have important information about countries behind the “iron curtain”. If the Bill becomes law, the Agency will be able to continue spending, without public accounting and an annual budget. The names and number of employees would remain a secret. _____________
