INCREASED SUPPLY OF PINEAPPLES
AUCKLAND, Feb. 22 Queensland pineapples Were one of the best dollar earners for Australia and consignments were being sent regularly to Canada. This statement was made by Mr W. E._ Whan, representative of the committee of direction of fruit marketing, who arrived bv the Monowai to-day for discussions with the Internal Marketing Department. He said that besides increasing supplies of pineapples to New Zealand, it was hoped to place canned pineapples on the Dominion market. Mr Whan will investigate the possibility of importing New Zealand wood for packing Australian fruit and the purchase of timber for pineapple cases. __ On the voyage from Sydney, Mi Whan examined the temperatures for a consignment of 1000 cases of pmeanoles. In Wellington next Monday he will examine a shipment arriving in the Wanganella.
