POLISH WORKERS IN BRITAIN
LONDON, February 17In a speech at Scundthorpe, Mr J. Tanner, president of the Amalgamated Engineering Union, said that the union had decided to withdraw its objection to the employment of Poles in British engineering industries pro T vided that certain safeguards were provided. Mr Tanner said that Poles would receive the same wages as. British engineering workers, but they would be employed only on the understanding that if there was too little work the Poles would be the first to be discharged.
