MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC SUPPLY ASSOCIATION

p.A. NAPIER, Feb. 16. Before legislation about the supply of electricity was brought down for the consideration of the Government, the Municipal Electric Supply Assn, should be consulted, it was declared at the annual conference of the Municipal Electric Supply Association. The conference decided that this matter be taken up with the Government.

The Association is also to request that the municipal authorities be notified direct about restrictions,, instead of through other .authorities. After it had been pointed out that barb wire was not subject to sales tax, it was decided that the removal of the sales tax on. insulated wire be sought. Mr W. Appleton (Wellington), was re-elected president of the Municipal Electric Supply Association. Other officers appointed were: Vice-presi-dent, Mr T. W. Hercock (Napier); executive, Messrs G. Tremaine (Palmerston North), A. E. Hanan (Timaru), L. R. Wilkinson (Tauranga), W. L. Brown (Ohakune), D. Darby (New Plymouth), W. Jones (Whaneerei), E. R. Neale (Nelson), L. F. Foote (Bluff), M. H. Moss (Stratford) ; secretary, Mr J.. M. Fraser (Rangiora); legal adviser, Mr J. O’Shea (Wellington); technical adviser, Mr L B. Hutton (Wellington).
