N.Z. RECIPROCITY WITH AUSTRALIAN IN TROTTING HANDICAPS
(Rec 11.20) PERTH, February 16. A plan for reciprocity in handicapping between New Zealand and the Australian States will be put forward at the council meeting of the Australian trotting bodies in Adelaide by the New Zealand Trotting Conference handicapper, Mr A. R. Neilson. The plan is for horses to take equivalent marks in New Zealand and Austialia, after winning. For instance, a horse winning trree races in Perth could take the same or equivalent mark in New Zealand as a pacei winning the same number of races there. , “The plan cuts both ways, and may, in time, pave the way for more frequent visits of Australian horses to New Zealand and vice versa,” said Mr Neilson. “We are keen for your best horses to race in New Zealand as often as possible.”
