ARABS LACK FAITH IN U.N.O. INQUIRY ON PALESTINE

Committee May Be Boycotted (Rec. 6.30). LONDON, May 21. . Jemal Bey Husseini, the Vice-Presi-dent of the Palestinian Arab Higher Committee, told the Times Cairo correspondent last night that the question of boycotting the United Nations’ new Fact Finding Committee on Palestine would be discussed by the Arab Higher Committee, under the presidency oif the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, at the Mufti’s house, near Cairo, at the coming week-end, when most of the Arab States’ delegates would have returned from New York. Jemal Bey Husseini said: “The Zionist political influence throughout the world is too strong for any fact finding committee, and it is too strong for the facts themselves! This fact finding committee is composed of representatives of small nations which, unlike the Great Powers, have no direcfi interest in Palestine’s fate”. He added that, if a solution contrary to the principles of democracy was to be forced on Palestine, then the British forebodings of a strong Arab reaction would come true. The Arabs had no objection to a full development of Jewishness, in any of its forms, except in the form of their political domination of the Arabs. The Arabs were prepared to offer to the Palestinian Jews their full and fair share in the government of an independent Palestine. But the Arabs would never agree that the Zionists had the right to make Palestine into a Jewish State, or to create a Jewish majority by flooding the country with non-Palestinian Jews.
