Firemens Wages Deducted
The fact that firemen often lost wages when called to attend a fire, was drawn to the attention of the Westport Fire Board, when it received a letter from the brigade at this week’s meeting. Mr M. B. Ccully, chairman of the board stated that he considered it unreasonable for firemen to give their services to the town and insurance companies free, and yet lose money through time lost at. work. He said the board should reimburse those firemen affected.
