Crime does not pay on Auckland’s waterfront. For stealing one tin of fruit juice valued at 2s 4d, a watersider, Rang! Victor Noble, aged 47, will spend one month in prison. Mr J. Molding, S.M., said: “It has been stated in courts many times that for those convicted of this type of offence, a term of imprisonment will follow in all cases, unless there are exceptoinal circumstances, and I can see none here.”
