Light and Power May be Cut Off At Sydney

(Rec. 9.50). SYDNEY, March 18. All of the light and power for industrial and domestic use will be threatened if the Federated Engine Drivers' and Firemen’s Association carries i»ut its move to prevent free labour at Morts Dock. This Association now threatens to withdraw its men from the Sydney power houses and the coal mines if free labour is used on the cranes at Morts Dock. The men belonging to the other unions have resumed work at Marte Dock, and they are considering the position to-day. The engine drivers are prepared to act even if the Trades and Labour Council approves of the employment of free labour for the cranes. The Engine Drivers’ Union is holding out for one pound weekly of an increase in pay, and for other concessions.
