CURIOUS DISMISSAL AUCKLAND, Feb. 21. Auckland won the toss and decided Io bat in the representative match with Wellington for the Centennial Cup, which opened at Eden Park today in fine weather. Taylor was dismussed in a curious manner. With Auckland’s score at 17 Taylor cut a ball hard to Murray at second slip. The ball struck Murray’s forehead, rebounded to Dempster at first slip, and Dempster made an easy catch. The score at 12.30 p.m. was 94 for two wickets (Wallace not out 32, Sneddon not out 32).
