YESTERDAY’S PLAY Results in yesterday’s continuance of play in the championship singles of the West Coast croquet tournament are as follows (winner first named): — Fourth, round—Mesdames Nottle and Niebill 2G/20; McCrachan and Slaskdale 26/11; Hargen and Moss 26/4; Rhodes and Jones 26/22. Semi-final: Mrs Nottle beat Mrs McCrachan 26/12. She now plays the winner of Mrs Hooper v. Mrs Rhodes in the final of the first life. The game between Mrs Rhodes and
Mrs Jones was a very thrilling tussle, the result being in doubt until the balls were pegged out. Mrs Rhodes, who is a visiting Dunedin player, is creating an impression with the very sporting game she plays. Championship singles—2nd life: Mesdames Jones and Gunn 26/23; Rhodes and Jondle 26/8; Nottle from Lawn by default; McCrachan and McHerron 26/15. Mrs Jones now plays Mrs Rhodes, and Mrs Nottle, Mrs McCrachan, in the semi-final of the 2nd life.
