NGAHERE STOCK SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report. on the above fixture held on Wednesday, as follows:— There was an entry of over 100 head of fat and store cattle, 100 ewes and lambs and a quantity of harness. The yarding of cattle consisted mainly of cows and steers. Good quality young steers and good cows sold at above late rates, but for backward cattle the demand was easier.

Principal sales were as follows:— A/c W. McLaughlin 25 fat ewes 21/-; 1 draught mare £9 10s. A/c Hill Brothers- 19 store lambs 17/-. A/c Mrs J. B. Nyberg 5 runners £4; 2 runners £2 10s 1 cow £4 7s 6d. A/c M. Doolan 1 cow at £5 7s 6d. A/c W. Clayton 1 heifer £7 2s 6d. A/c F. Donovan 4 steers £lO 2s 6d; 1 dairy cow £l2 12s. A/c R. Buchanan 1 steer £ll 2s 6d; 3 steers £8 2s 6d. A/c. W. Wareing (in conjunction with National Mortgage and Agency Coy: 4 steers £7 12s 6d; 4 cows £6 12s 6d; 3 cows £7 17s 6d. A/c Misses M. J. and B. I The National Mortgage and Agency Coy., Ltd., report on the above stock sale held on Wednesday as- follows: There* was a medium entry of cattle and several pens of sheep offered to a limited attendance of buyers. Competition for both cattle and sheep was rather restricted and several lines of steers were passed in failing to reach the vendor’s reserve.
