RIFLE SHOOTING
Trentham Results P.A. TRENTHAM, February 21. Some brilliant shooting, with two double range possibles, was recorded at the national rifle championship meeting seen at Trentham to-day, when two matches in a Ballinger Belt aeries were fired.
The competitors returning double range possibles were: Rifleman H. King (Opaki) and President M. Hausmann (Ashhurst). They were the winners of the Canterbury match of 300 and 500 yards. Both also returned good scores in the Taranaki match of 800 yards. King (Opaki) now leads in the Belt series with 147, being one point ahead of Hausmann.
Leading scores in the Belt series are: IL King (Opaki) 147; M. Hausmann (Ashhurs*t) 146; S. L. Lumsden (Devin) 145; K. C. McLeallan (Auckland city), J W. Johnson (’Featherston), G. Cromie (Ashburton) 144; A. H. O’Donnell (Petone), W. Oakley (Christchurch), A. R. Tantrum (Nelson), A R. Symons (Auckland city) 143; M. Gordon (Okawa), and V. Hornby (Gore) 142.
