N.Z. “Pro” Tourney CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 21. A new course record of was established by N. H. Fuller (Waitikiri) at the N.Z. Professional Golf Association’s tournament at Shirley to-day. Fuller was in brilliant form, and although in the afternoon round lie did 75, he led the field by two stroke at the end of the day The final two rounds of the Canterbury piofessional championships will be played to-morrow. Conditions were perfect for golf, with practically no wind. It was overcast, but. there was a good light and the greens were not hard to handle. Fuller began the morning with a birdie at the first hole and turned for home in 34, two under par. A birdie at the tenth put ‘him three under. Then he had three successive birdies at the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth. He did par figures for the last three holes to finish the half in -33, four under par. The previous record of 68 for the lengthened course was established by D. L. Woon in December last year. In 1931, A. J. Shaw went round in 67, but the course was shorter then, with the standard scratch score of 72, compared with the present 73. The next best, score of the day was 70 in the afternoon by A Murray (unattached, Auckland), who came 'home in 34, three under par. Scores at the end of the first two rounds were:—
