FOUR! OFFICES SHOW SURPLUS Last week’s returns in this district totalled £1332 9s 3d, which amount was £269 9s 3d in excess of the weekly objective. On this/ {occasion four offices gave investments above their respective quotas, with Hokitika presenting outstanding figures for the week. Hokitika invested £656 Is, or nearly three and a half times the weekly target. Other towns to show deposits' in excess of quota were Greymouth, Otira and Blackball. Here are the details from these four offices, with surpluses in parentheses: Hokitika £656 Is (£471 Is); Greymouth £534 7s (£23 7s); Otira £25 7s (£l5 7s); Blackball £5B Is (£8 Is). Total: £1282 16s (£517 16s). The total amount invested by these four offices was- £1282 16s, which was £219 16s above the district quota of £1063. These four places showed an aggregate surplus of £517 16s ove 1 -’ their own weekly objectives. The remaining six offices received quota credits for last week, although in each case calls' had to be made on accumulated reserves to achieve this position. Details from these offices are, (deficiencies being in parenihis)Waiuta £9 Os 6d (£l5 19s 6d); Ross £4 8s 6d (£2O 11s 6d); Kumara £1 6s (£23 14s 0); Brunnerton £6 5s (£43 15s); Reefton £l7 (£56); Runanga £ll 13s 3d (£BB 6s 9d). Total: £49 13s 3d (£248 6s 9d). Only £49 13s 3d was invested by these six offices, an over-all deficiency of £248 6s 9d.
